Mom’s Alarming Warning After Toddler’s Near Loss of Eyesight Due to a Bath Toy

For the majority of children, the end of the day often brings about bath time, and the more toys there are in the bath, the more enjoyable it seems. However, an Illinois mom has issued a serious warning to parents, highlighting that a seemingly innocuous bath toy can pose a significant danger to kids, as her own young son endured a terrifying ordeal that nearly cost him his eyesight.

A Sudden and Alarming Situation

Eden Strong was in the process of giving her 2-year-old son, Baylor, a bath when she noticed that his eye appeared irritated. Initially, she assumed it was just because water had gotten into his eye. But after the bath, Baylor’s condition worsened rapidly. It turned out that he had developed cellulitis, a potentially severe bacterial skin infection. In a mere 12 hours, his eye went from a slightly pinkish hue to being clearly infected.

Eden recounted in a now-viral Facebook post, “His eye was protruding from his face. It was very obscured. He was running a raging fever.” She went on to say, “I cried the entire drive to a larger hospital, praying that he wouldn’t lose his eye.”
