Selena Gomez Issues Emotional Update After Heartbreaking Baby Announcement

Selena Gomez has made an emotional admission about having children with fiancé Benny Blanco, after discussing her medical issues.

The 33-year-old singer spoke candidly in a recent interview, making a heartbreaking admission about her hopes of having children with producer fiancé, Benny Blanco.

The star has been very open about her health battles in recent years, after being diagnosed with lupus back in 2013, later receiving a kidney transplant.

In her Apple TV+ documentary series, My Mind and Me, she also opened up about suffering with bipolar disorder.

The couple’s relationship evolved from a friendship, which had been built over many years in the industry.

Blanco and Gomez started dating in 2023, and announced their engagement in late 2024.

At the time of their engagement, a source close to the couple, speaking with Entertainment Tonight, said: “Benny is a great communicator, is honest and open with Selena, and listens to her.

“He’s respectful, isn’t a player, and not in it for the attention or fame.

“Benny doesn’t care about any of that and Selena sees that and really trusts him.”

The A-list producer has previously spoken out about his hopes of becoming a father one day, revealing that he is ‘dreaming and praying every day.’

But his future wife recently made a heartbreaking admission about the couple’s hopes of having children.

Speaking with Time magazine, the former Disney Channel star said: “Before I met my boyfriend, I was single for five years, with the exception of going on a few dates.

“And I was like, ‘Okay, if this is the vibe, then what is the most important thing to me? Family.’”

The singer noted that the thought of being alone often ‘tortured’ her, until she came up with a ‘plan.’

She said: “I came up with my plan, which was that I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone.”

In a separate interview with Vanity Fair, the star heartbreakingly revealed that she isn’t able to carry her own children.

Gomez said: “I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy.

“That was something I had to grieve for a while.”

She added: “I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.

“It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms.

“I’m one of those people. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different.

“At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.”
