A man killed on the Isle of Sheppey was described as a ‘one-man crimewave’ by police after admitting stalking and car theft offences, it has been revealed.
Alexander Cashford, 49, was attacked in Leysdown-on-Sea on the Kent island on Sunday, where the electrician was allegedly hit on the head with stones.
It has since emerged that Mr Cashford had an ankle monitor fitted after following a young woman home from work and posting a chocolate bar and a letter through her letterbox at 1am.
He had previously been described by police as a ‘one man crime wave’.
Mr Cashford, from Rainham in Kent, appeared at North Kent magistrates Court on March 17 where he admitted a charge of stalking involving serious alarm and distress.

He was placed on a month’s curfew and fitted with a tag which was to remain in place until September 16, The Daily Mail reports.
Mr Cashford was also jailed for three years and four months in 2015 after stealing vehicle parts worth more than £63,000.
He pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court to nearly 200 offences relating to vehicle theft, money laundering and making off without payment.
Detective constable Sarbjeet Khattoare described Cashford as a ‘one man crime wave’ who made a quick profit from an illegal gap in the market.
Mr Cashford became involved in an ‘altercation’ involving a ‘small group’ of people in the Warden Bay Road area at around 7pm on Sunday.
The police said: ‘Multiple injuries to the man’s body were reported.’
Eyewitnesses said people at the beach tried to give him CPR and stem the bleeding with tissues, according to The Sun.
Shortly after, two teenage boys and a girl, all from London, were arrested and taken into custody.
Witnesses in the seaside town of Leysdown claimed that the man was ‘hit with stones and rocks’ before his death.
Anthony West, from Jimmy G’s Amusements nearby, said he saw the teens being arrested in the arcade.
He told The Sun: ‘I was working in the ice cream shop across the road at the time.
‘I heard a commotion so came outside to see what was going on.
‘There were four cop cars parked out the front.
‘One of the boys was in handcuffs in the car.’
Two boys aged 14 and 15 and a 16-year-old girl were charged with murder by joint venture yesterday.
