Jamie Lee Curtis Gives Brutal Response To Scathing Freakier Friday Review

Jamie Lee Curtis has defended Freakier Friday after one scathing and ‘rude’ review.

We all know that when Jamie Lee Curtis speaks her mind, she means business.

The 66-year-old star called out a ‘harsh’ review that one Freakier Friday viewer had put out, claiming that ‘no one’ asked for the film to be made.

But it’s not the only time that the Oscar winner has been outspoken in the last week.

While rumors have recently surfaced suggesting that Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson are in a relationship following their new film The Naked Gun, Curtis issued a stern warning to those who ship the ‘couple.’

The actress told VT: “With all due respect to pop culture, if love has found its way into that relationship, God bless them both.

“Leave them the f**• alone! And let them like each other, because both of them have had hardship, and they’re both beautiful humans… it makes me cry.”

It was Time magazine that posted the scathing review of her and Lindsay Lohan’s body-swapping sequel – which currently scores 72 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

The official synopsis of the new film reads: “Two decades after an identity crisis, Anna’s blended family faces new challenges.

“Tess and Anna discover their past may be repeating with the next generation.”

And while Freakier Friday has received an array of glowing reviews, Curtis was not happy about one in particular.

In their brutal critique, Stephanie Zacharek wrote: “No one, as far as we know, actually asked Disney for a sequel to 2003’s buoyant, surprisingly unsyrupy generation-gap comedy Freaky Friday.

“Ugly costumes, humiliating scenarios, and zero added value – this is a sequel with the sole purpose of cashing in on the fondness people have for the original movie and nothing more.”

But it didn’t stop there.

The writer added: “The worst part is, Freakier Friday arrived in a pack of other sequels with genuinely fresh takes on their original source material.”

And it’s safe to say that Curtis was having none of it.

She took to the Instagram comments herself, and said: “SEEMS a TAD HARSH.

“SOME people LOVE it. Me being one.”

And fans were quick to back the star up.

One said: “Calm down, it’s not that deep. Sometimes we want light-hearted movies to help us feel like kids again.”

“I loved it. Nostalgic but modern,” another added. “Jamie Lee Curtis was hilarious, and Lindsay Lohan was beautiful and great as ever.”

A third fan commented: “I think this article just ensured a lot more people will be seeing the film. No one trashes our queens that way!”
