Dad Shares Toddler ‘Compliment’ That Makes His Skin Crawl

A toddler dad has shared the ‘creepiest’ compliment his three-year-old daughter receives.

One dad has taken to TikTok to share the weirdest compliment his toddler receives when they are out in public together.

While the girl dad did admit that his daughter is as ‘cute as a button,’ he noted that some people really cross the line.

Speaking to users on the platform, he said: “She’s very cute and everybody every time we go out in public likes to tell us how cute she is, which is fine.”

But he added that it’s always typically an ‘older man’ who comes out with the inappropriate line.

“They’ll be like standing there looking at my little girl and be like ‘oh she’s so sweet’ ‘she’s so cute’ and I’m like ‘yeah, thank you,’” he added.

But the comment that follows really makes his skin crawl.

And the dad doesn’t believe it’s a one-off experience.

He noted: “It’s a common thing. I’m sure other people experience it too.”

And he was swiftly proven right, with hundreds of parents in the comments revealing that their young child had received the same ‘compliment.’

One viewer wrote: “I always say, ‘thats a very odd thing to insinuate about a toddler.’”

But others weren’t convinved.

As one said: “As a grandparent, I think they’re just striking up conversation and trying to be complimentary.”

Addressing the ‘creepy’ remark, the girl dad said: “They’re like, ‘dad, you’re going to be in trouble when she’s about 14 or 15’ or ‘you better have your gun ready when she turns 20 or 16. She’s going to be trouble.’

“Talking about how my three-year-old little girl is going to get all the guys and she’s going to be in trouble and stuff when she’s older…

“That is creepy and it’s inappropriate, and it happens literally every time we go out somewhere.”

Other parents in the comments shared their experiences.

One said: “I have a five-year-old boy and have also heard very weird comments.

“Like ‘oh, he’s going to be popular with the ladies when he’s in high school.’

“Or from grown ass women, ‘if only I was 20 years younger or he was 20 years older.’”

Another added: “Literally when my daughter was 6 months old, an old man who we didn’t know passed us and said, ‘those thighs are gonna get her in trouble.’

“Like, she’s a baby?”

A third noted: “What is wrong with people?

“This old man came up to me the other day when I was out with my 3-year-old and said ‘God makes them cute so you don’t get rid of them when they turn 13.’

“Like why do they think we need the commentary? They just can’t help themselves.”
