Star-Studded Series Dubbed ‘Best Show On Netflix’ And It’s So Good Fans Are Rewatching It

A series is being called the ‘best show on Netflix‘ and fans can’t stop rewatching it.

The TV show, which features a star-studded cast including Christina Hendricks (Mad Men), Retta (Parks and Recreation), and Mae Whitman (Parenthood), has captured viewers, with over 1.08 billion minutes of viewership on the streaming platform.

Praising the series, one fan writes: “This show is amazing, I legit loved every second.”

Another adds: “So many familiar faces. Every cast member is sheer perfection. So many twists and turns! Don’t trust anyone!”

“I’ve watched it three times!” a third shares.

Somebody else declares: “Ooh, this one is a masterpiece for sure!”

Created by Jenna Bans, who also made The Family and Off The Map, the series has an 86% Rotten Tomatoes score.

Critics have raved about it, too.

Debi Enker for The Age said: “The series’ pace is lively as the plot continually thickens. It also ponders the idea of what happens when people cross a line.”

Shirley Li from The Atlantic agreed, adding: “Complicated antiheroes, audacious plotting, and inventive camerawork don’t often live outside of cable and streaming, and yet this show makes it work.”

“Audiences should tune in sooner rather than later to watch this gem. Even with high expectations, they can still expect to be thoroughly entertained,” Pop Culture Leftovers writer Stephanie Chapman wrote.

In an interview with Variety, Bans opened up about the creation of the popular show.

She said: “I owed NBC a pilot, and I wanted to write something escapist and fun and chock-full of wish fulfilment and something that made my mom feel better about her life. It was a love letter to my mother.”

The series follows three suburban moms as they orchestrate a local grocery store heist to escape their financial problems and find independence.

“When we pitched the show to NBC, it was all female executives: I’ve never had an easier pitch,” Bans laughed.

“I think I got three sentences in before one screamed, ‘We have to do this.’ It was the easiest time I’ve ever had. They just really got it right away, and they were really excited to do the show.”

Despite Good Girls‘ huge popularity, it was canceled after running for four seasons.

Retta, who portrayed Ruby Hill in the series, claimed it was ‘very close’ to securing a season renewal, but ‘one person ruined it for all of [the] cast and crew.’

On Live With Kelly And Ryan, co-host Kelly Ripa asked (per Entertainment Weekly): “Wait, but, if one person ruins it for cast and crew, can’t you just get rid of that one person and then bring in another person?”

“I think it was a little too close to when [the writers] would have to start [season five scripts] and figure out story, so… no,” Retta responded, then adding: “Trust me. Trust me, Kelly! I’m salty!”
