JUST IN, Today: ‘Both Imbeciles!’ Karoline Leavitt demands Nobel Peace Prize for Trump’s Rwanda-Congo deal

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made a bizarre demand during Thursday’s White House press briefing, calling on the Nobel Committee to award President Donald Trump the Nobel Peace Prize.

Speaking seriously from the podium, Leavitt insisted that Trump deserved the honor for settling six global conflicts and brokering peace deals in his first six months in office.

Leavitt stated, “The president has now ended conflicts between Thailand and Cambodia, Israel and Iran, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo, and Egypt and Ethiopia.”

She continued, “This means President Trump has brokered, on average, about one peace deal or ceasefire per month during his six months in office. It’s well past time that President Trump was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.”

However, many of the wars Trump claimed to have ended are still ongoing. Russia continues its bombing campaign in Ukraine, Palestinians are facing starvation in Gaza, and no ceasefire seems near between Israel and Hamas.

Regarding the conflict between Rwanda and the Congo, Trump admitted confusion about the latter country during a late June meeting where officials signed a peace agreement in Washington. Trump said, “People that were in jail for horrible — you know, they release jails from all over the world and release them. Not just South America. The Congo in Africa. Many, many people come from the Congo. I don’t know what that is, but they came from the Congo.”

Political commentator Keith Olbermann criticized Leavitt’s statement on X (formerly Twitter), quipping, “She said ‘noble’ because they’re both imbeciles.”

Other social media users poked fun at the claim. One wrote sarcastically, “I’m thinking more for economics – he’s done a cracking job on the flip flop tariff ‘policy’ – signed gazillions of trade deals worth quintillions of $s and knows more about economics than the Fed or every/any economist on the f%$cking planet…”

This is not the first time Leavitt has called for Trump to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. In early July, she tweeted, “Trump deserves Nobel Peace Prize. He’s achieved more than those who’ve won before.”

Trump himself has long coveted the award, especially after former President Barack Obama won it in 2010.
